Die hard opera fans may want to consider a trip to Scotland next summer after the Edinburgh International Festival announced five operas will lead the 2024 event.
It’s the second festival under the direction of famed violinist Nicola Benedetti and will include a new version of Bizet’s “Carmen,” created by the French company that first staged it in 1875.
The 2024 festival will follow the theme of the “Rituals That Unite Us” which responds to an overwhelming desire for togetherness from artists and audiences. It also follows on from last year’s question “Where Do We Go From Here?
The Edinburgh International Festival is set to run from August 2nd to the 25th.
