Forty more Canadians looking to leave the Gaza Strip during the ongoing Israel Hamas war are on the list of those who may cross into Egypt on Wednesday.
These individuals will join 75 others with Canadian passports who made it through the Rafah crossing Tuesday.
Canada’s ambassador to Egypt says he hopes and expects more Canadians will be able to leave Gaza in the days ahead.
Tuesday marked one month since the Israel Hamas war began following the horrific terror attacks on Israel October 7th.
The day before, the Israeli Consulate in Toronto hosted an exclusive screening of the Hamas massacre.
“Some of the images that I saw will no doubt stick with me for the rest of my life,” explained Zoomer Video Journalist Darrin Maharaj to Zoomer Radio’s Fight Back with Libby Znaimer, “And when I say that they spared us and shielded us from the worst, they didn’t show us videos of the children being shot and killed, but they did show us the aftermath, the still pictures, some of which were blurred so you couldn’t see their faces, you know, out of respect for the families and the victims. But to see something like that, you can’t unsee something like that. That’s like something that will haunt a person. And being a dad myself, it takes it to a whole other level on top of it.”

Darrin said the journalists who witnessed the images in the screening were not allowed to record any of them, because the organizers do not want them released to the world out of respect for the victim’s families.
