Tens of thousands of Israeli troops have gathered along the border with Gaza, as the Israeli military prepares for a ground assault to ride the territory of Hamas terrorists.
Israel’s defence minister has urged soldiers to be prepared to move in, saying in reference to Hamas, “It might take a week, a month, two months until we destroy them.”
Israel has pounded Gaza with airstrikes since October 7th after Hamas terrorists killed 1400 people in Israel and kidnapped some 200 civilians. Two of these may be Canadian. A third Canadian hostage was killed by the terrorists.
Meantime, U.S. President Joe Biden has made his case for major American backing of Israel and Ukraine in their times of war.
“It’s natural to ask, why does this matter to America?” Biden empathized with his fellow Americans in a prime time television address Thursday evening.
He went on to warn what will happen if the U.S. lets either Vladimir Putin or Hamas get away with their tyranny and terror.
“Would be aggressors around the world would be emboldened to try the same,” Biden explained, “Risk of conflict and chaos would spread in other parts of the world.”
Biden is planning to ask U.S. Congress to provide $100-billion in aid to Israel and Ukraine.
