The winner of the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival will be released in theatres today.

“Anatomy of a Fall”,  which had its Canadian premier at TIFF, is about a novelist whose husband falls from a chalet window and dies.

After the movie is over, audiences are left wondering whether the man was pushed or if he fell, and director Justine Triet likes it that way…

Triet even refused to tell the actors which side of the story is true, although she has an idea, but is keeping it to herself.

She wants the audience to think it could have gone either way and promises to share her version of the story in ten years.

There has already been some early Oscar buzz for “Anatomy of a Fall”.
