A musical created by Barry Manilow and Bruce Sussman is making its Broadway debut more than 30 years after it was written.
Harmony will begin preview performances next Wednesday.
The show played to good reviews off-Broadway in the 1990’s but Manilow says, “The producers just couldn’t keep going.”
Harmony is based on a true story of a forgotten German performing group called The Comedian Harmonists.
The group was outlawed by the Nazis because three of the members were Jewish.
Manilow describes The Comedian Harmonists as “the first boy band, that’s how big they were.”
