According to the Taliban, a strong earthquake with several aftershocks has killed at least 15 people and injured dozens more in western Afghanistan.

On Saturday, the United States Geological Survey reported a pair of 6.3 magnitude earthquakes striking Herat province.

A spokesperson for Afghanistan’s national disaster authority reported four villages in Zenda Jan district were dealt the worst of the quakes and aftershocks.

Dozens of homes are damaged.
