According to the Taliban, a strong earthquake with several aftershocks has killed at least 15 people and injured dozens more in western Afghanistan.
On Saturday, the United States Geological Survey reported a pair of 6.3 magnitude earthquakes striking Herat province.
A spokesperson for Afghanistan’s national disaster authority reported four villages in Zenda Jan district were dealt the worst of the quakes and aftershocks.
Dozens of homes are damaged.
A Herat resident said at least five powerful earthquakes struck the city around noon.
