It usually works the other way around with gas prices shooting up just before a long weekend.

But instead, drivers are getting a break this holiday weekend.

Friday morning, gas prices across the GTA were six cents a litre lower than they were yesterday.

That has the price down to $1.49.9 a litre.

The last time gas prices were were that low was last April 1st.

The latest drop comes less than a month after GTA gas prices matched a yearly high when they hit a $1.73.9 a litre.
