One down, two to go.
After Canadian workers at Ford Motor accepted a new three-year contract, Unifor says talks with General Motors will begin Tuesday.
Ford workers voted only 54% in favour cpmpared with the 81% approval of their previous contract.
The slim show of support has some labor experts thinking reaching deals with GM and Stellantis could prove more difficult.
At least one expert says the wild card is if workers at those two automakers will want more, given their companies are larger and more profitable.
Unifor says the Ford deal will be a blueprint for talks with first GM and then Stellantis.
GM has approximately 4,300 workers at the Oshawa Assembly Complex, St. Catharines Powertrain Plant and Woodstock Parts Distribution Centre.
