Believe it or not, it’s been 57 years since TV audiences first witnessed this.
September 8th, 1966, “Star Trek,” with Montreal’s William Shatner as Commander James T. Kirk and Sarnie-born actor James Doohan as Scotty, hit the air
In honour of that milestone CBS has declared it “Star Trek Day” and will host a special that looks back at memorable moments over the years.
The original Star Trek ran for 79 episodes and was on the air until June of 1969.
