With summer coming to a close, temperatures returning to more seasonal norms, the only thing falling more might be Doug Ford’s popularity.
It’s fallen to 63% among Tory voters — a 17% drop from June.
A just released Angus Reid Institute poll also finds Ford’s approval rating’s dropped to a five-year low with fewer than three-in-ten (28%) giving the thumbs up.
Two-thirds (67%) of constituents, including one-in three (36%) who voted Conservative just last year, hold negative opinions of Ford.
However, the NDP under new leader Marit Stiles and the leaderless Liberals are not making gains.
Two-in-five (38%) say they’d still support the Tories if there were an election.
10%-more than the New Democrats (28%) and 16-more (22%) than the Grits, who must wait till December 2 to find out who will be their new leader.
Among the candidates only Bonnie Crombie is recognizable to more than 30% of those who say they’d consider the Liberals in a future election.
