The driver responsible for the hit and run that killed beloved maestro Boris Brott in Hamilton is going to jail for 8 years.

It was in April of last year when we learned of the Brott’s death.

The 78-year old composer and conductor was out for walk
near his home when he was hit by a car that then left the scene.

35-year-old Arseniji Lojovic will have to serve seven years, seven months and nine days after credit for time in custody.

Among other things, Boris Brott was the founder and artistic director of the National Academy Orchestra of Canada, the Brott Music Festival and a good friend of Classical FM.
