A newly released memo from the Department of Public Safety says Canada is trailing other international partners when it comes to keeping vital utilities and services from a growing number of risks.
The memo says rapidly evolving threats pose a greater risk of harm to Canadians and their cyber, economic and national security.
Earlier this week, a federal report warned that cyber-criminals are expected to target high-value organizations in Canada and around the world over the next two years.
The feds are looking to update a 14-year old strategy intended to protect critical infrastructure like energy and water.
