A milestone moment has been recorded in the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Inbound travellers will no longer be required to present a negative COVID test or antigen test,” Foreign Minister Spokesperson Wang Wenbin announced Monday at a briefing in Beijing.
No longer requiring a negative COVID-19 test result from incoming travellers takes effect on Wednesday.
China ended its “zero-COVID” policy only in December.
Prior to that, intense measures included full city lockdowns and lengthy quarantines for people who were infected.
COVID-19 is believed to have started in Wuhan, a city of 11-million people in central China.
