He was known for a number of accomplishments in the Television world but probably best known as the brains behind the 1980’s prime time soap opera “Dallas.”

David Jacobs was also behind the Dallas spinoff “Knotts Landing” and a slew of other shows including the Emmy winning Second World War series “Homefront”

In all Dallas aired 356 episodes over 14 years and won four Emmys.

David Jacobs has died at the age of 84.  His son confirms the cause was complications from Alzheimer’s disease.
