Ryan Amato has walked the Greenbelt plank.
The chief of staff to the housing minister has become the scapegoat or fall guy for the Ford government’s handling of the controversial land swap.
A short statement from the Premier’s Office says it’s accepted Amato’s resignation effective immediately.
The comes after the auditor-general’s recent report found developers with access to Amato wound up with 92% of land eventually removed from the protected area.
AG Bonnie Lysyk also found all but one of the sites were suggested by Amato, who received packages at an industry dinner by two major developers, instead of civil servants.
Doug Ford’s repeatedly said that no one received preferential treatment.
