The Canadian arts community is mourning one of this country’s boldest choreographers and winner of numerous awards over his career.
Danny Grossman has died from natural causes in Toronto
During his long career, Grossman created a total of 67 dances and was inducted into the Dance Hall of Fame in 2018.
He was born in the United States but relocated to Toronto in 1973 to perform as a guest with Toronto Dance Theatre. He later became a faculty member at York University and in 1977 formed the Danny Grossman Dance Company.
His work, relating to gay themes, broke barriers on concert stages across Canada and internationally.
Danny Grossman was 80.
