Zoomers of a certain vintage will certainly remember the 1963 hit, “Hey Paula.”

We’ve learned that Ray Hildebrand, the Paul of “Paul and Paula” has died.

He formed “Paul and Paula” with college friend Jill Jackson in the early 60s.  That pairing led to their number one hit.  Their follow up song “”Young Lovers,” peaked at number six.

Hildebrand left pop music in 1967 and became one of the early hit-makers in contemporary Christian music.

Ray Hildebrand died over the weekend in Kansas City.

He was 82.
