A coalition of leaders. representing 133 First Nations in the province, says it’ll keep working with the Ministry of Housing and Municipal Affairs, but not with Minister Steve Clark ”until an adequate resolution of the issue has been confirmed.”
The Chiefs of Ontario wants Clark to resign or be removed, and his chief-of-staff, Ryan Amato, to step down after the recent auditor-general’s report over the government plan to open up the Greenbelt for housing.
Those are some of the group’s demands that it wishes to urgently discuss with Doug Ford and Indigenous Affairs Minister Greg Rickford.
Two other key demands include the return of the lands to the Greenbelt and the repeal of recently passed housing law – Bill 23.
