The UK’s first Eurovision singer 66 years ago, who went on to marry a Canadian millionaire, has died in Nova Scotia.

Patricia Bredin sang at the 1957 Eurovision Song Contest in Frankfurt Germany at the age of 22 and came 7th out of the 10 nations entered.

She was picked for the contest after being discovered at the Savoy in London and went on to act in a number of British movies.  However, while singing on the QE II, she met Charles McCulloch got married and gave up show business because she feared becoming a “wanna be.”

She was widowed shortly after the wedding but remained in Canada raising cattle.
