CANADIANS ADVISED AGAINST NON-ESSENTIAL TRAVEL TO MAUI AS WILDFIRES CONTINUE

Canadians authorities are echoing the advice of the state of Hawaii not to go to Maui unless it’s essential.
At least 36 have died in the wildfires on the island that were whipped by winds from Hurricane Dora passing far to the south.
Air Canada, that flies once-daily between Vancouver and Maui, cancelled Tuesday’s flight as the island airport was closed.
As winds eased somewhat, some flights resumed to Maui yesterday.
Air Canada flew a large plane there last evening to pick up not only passengers left from Tuesday but also ones scheduled to go home yesterday evening.
