Director William Friedkin, known for films like the “The Exorcist” and “The French Connection” has died.

He was also approached to produce “Star Wars” and “MASH” but turned them down saying he couldn’t see the potential of them.

One of the final scenes from “The Exorcist” was shot at a set of brick steps in Washington DC which has since become a tourist attraction and which Friedkin revisited in 2018.

Friedkin died in Los Angeles yesterday at the age of 87.
