Acclaimed U-S filmmaker Barry Jenkins has been selected as the jury chair for the competitive Platform program at this year’s Toronto film festival.
Jenkins will chair a three-member panel that will select the winner of a $20,000 award.
The 10-film program opens with American film “Dream Scenario” starring Nicolas Cage and Brampton’s Michael Cera from U-S filmmaker Kristoffer Borgli.
Also in the mix, the Canadian drama “The King Tide” directed by Christian Sparkes.
All 10 films will have their world premieres at TIFF that runs September 7th to 17th but it’s unclear how many A list stars will walk the red carpet as the Hollywood actors strike drags on.
