Not long after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau shuffled nearly two-thirds of cabinet portfolios, bringing in seven rookie MPs and dropping seven, the Opposition leader feels it’s obvious who has to go.
”Though it’s all well and good to fire one incompetent minister but it’s Justin Trudeau who should have been fired,” said Pierre Poilievre.
Seven rookies join the prime minister’s inner circle, including four from the GTA; Parkdale-High Park MP Arif Virani (Minister of Justice and Attorney General), Scarborough-Rouge Park MP Gary Anandasangaree (Minister of Crown-Indigenous relations), York Centre MP Ya’ara Saks (Minister of Mental Health and Addictions and associate minister of Health) and Mississauga-Streetsville MP Rechie Valdez (Minister of Small Business).
Those leaving cabinet include Marco Mendicino, David Lametti, Helena Jaczek, Omar Alghabra, Carolyn Bennett, Joyce Murray and Mona Fortier.
Among those staying put are Chrystia Freeland in Finance and Melanie Joy in Foreign Affairs.
