The Ontario government is going to boost spending on pediatric health services by $330M per year.
The funding allows children’s hospitals to significantly increase staffing, increase the number of day surgeries and create rapid access clinics that will help people avoid the E-R during flu season.
Some of the money will be spent to reduce wait times for mental health services and children’s rehabilitation services.
“We know that when your child gets sick, the last thing you want is a backlog, or a wait list, you want care and you want it fast,” said Premier Doug Ford.
The funding will support more than 100 initiatives.
