Some of the world’s best known authors are among the thousands of writers and poets calling for curbs on artificial intelligence.

Leading the list, are Can-Lit legend Margaret Atwood and American best seller James Patterson.

They’ve endorsed an open letter from the Authors Guild calling for companies who work with A-I systems to compensate them for their writings.

They say their copyrighted books, articles, essays and poetry are metaphorically “food” for A-I systems; calling them endless meals for which there has been no bill.
