It’s taken six years, 4,600 hundred shows in front of six million fans,  set a new record for earnings and it all ended over the weekend in Sweden.

Elton John telling the audience in Stockholm his farewell tour has been pure joy.

The 76-year old music legend kicked off his final show with “Bennie and the Jets,” then went on to perform a whole bunch of his hits like “Tiny Dancer,” “Rocket Man” and “Candle in the Wind.”

Sir Elton reflected on his life towards the end of his grand finale, telling the audience he wouldn’t be touring again but might do some one off things, but for now he’s going to appreciate his family, his sons, his husband and everything he’s earned.  In this case, Billboard Magazine reports the tour is the first ever to reach $900 million in ticket sales.

Elton then finished his final concert the way it all started – singing “Good Bye to the Yellow Brick Road.”
