You’ll have to excuse many residents in the Bloor West-Jane Street neighbourhood who can’t wait for the summer to fly by.
That’s because a boring machine, trapped under Old Mill Drive since the spring of last year, could finally be pulled out by late next month.
The dusty, noisy work; to dig a new storm sewer in order to address chronic basement flooding in the area, was nearly complete when the machine got stuck with just 7-metres to go.
Then there’s the cost; initially budgeted at $7.2-million, which then rose to an estimated $9-million earlier this year and not to $25-million.
One area resident says every taxpayer should be furious.
