The Canadian ship Horizon Arctic has brought back shattered debris of the Titan submersible to the harbour in St. John’s, 10-days after it went missing off theĀ coast of Newfoundland .
A crane lifted the sub’s nose cone, some of its hull and part of the tail section onto the dock.
The Titan was destroyed in an implosion during its June 18 descent to the ocean floor, where the five onboard were hoping to get a look at the wreck of the Titanic.
The debris will now be given to investigators to try to figure out what went wrong.
American officials will likely lead the investigation that’ll include transportation safety boards from Canada and the U.S. along with the U.S. Coast Guard and RCMP.
