Actor Lew Palter was best known for playing businessman and Macy’s co-owner Isidor Straus in the move Titanic.
In his most famous scene, he’s cuddling with his wife Ida on a bed in their cabin as the ship sinks.
Palter died of lung cancer. He was 94.
Interestingly enough, the real-life Straus was actually the great great grandfather of the wife of one of the men who died last week in the Titan submsersible.
Before “Titanic,” Palter appeared in various hit TV shows, including Columbo, Kojak, Charlie’s Angels, The Brady Bunch and Hill Street Blues.
