After saying he was staying out the Toronto Mayoral campaign, Premier Doug Ford has some choice words for frontrunner Olivia Chow.
“If Olivia Chow gets in, it will be an unmitigated disaster, taxes are going to go up 25% to 30% when people can’t afford the rent, can’t afford mortgages, businesses are going to be fleeing Toronto,” Ford told reporters. “She makes David Miller look like a fiscal Conservative!”
Repeating his endorsement of Mark Saunders, Ford admits he wished John Tory was still Mayor.
“My biggest fear is the gravy train 2.0 coming down the tracks, I’ve seen it, I’ve lived it,” Ford went on. “I don’t want someone going in there raising taxes and her policies don’t work, as a matter of fact, what is her policy, I’ve heard one, raising taxes.”
Meantime, on a possible cabinet shuffle this summer, Ford says he’s not ruling out anything.
