No less a music superstar than Sir Elton John is raising the alarm over what he calls a growing swell of anger and hemophobia in the United States.

After singing about and raising millions of dollars in reaction to the AIDS crisis, the 76-year old music legend who is gay, says “we seem to be going backwards” as he lamented the curtailing of LGBTQ rights in the U-S, particularly in Florida.

According to an LGBTQ advocacy group, there have been more than 500 pieces of restrictive legislation introduced in more than 40 states so far this year.

Sir Elton has hinted he might be open to doing a residency after his current farewell tour ends, but he says “not in America.”
