Summer officially arrives just before 11 o’clock this morning and the oracles at Environment Canada have been crystal ball gazing to predict what this summer might be like.
Senior Climatologist Dave Phillips says he thinks it’s going to be pretty nice with lots of days to enjoy the beach.
But, that is just the general synopsis. Phillips says there will be moments when people are wondering where summer went and lead others to complain about the heat and haze caused by wildfire smoke and humidity.
The agency’s just-released seasonal forecast says expect higher-than-normal temperatures in Ontario through at least the end of August.
The rest of the country, including Quebec, BC and Atlantic Canada, will also see hotter than normal summer temperatures.
