There are four federal byelections taking place in Canada today.

New members of parliament will be elected to the House of Commons; one in Montreal, one in Winnipeg, one in rural Manitoba and one in southwestern Ontario.

Philippe Fournier is a polling analyst behind the 338 Canada poll website.

He says the riding to watch is Oxford in Ontario, where the former Conservative MP Dave MacKenzie has endorsed the Liberal candidate.

Mackenzie says the Liberal candidate is an honest guy while the Conservative candidate has been parachuted in by the party and is not part of the riding’s grassroots.

In Portage-Lisgar, the Conservatives are hoping to beat out People’s Party of Canada Leader Maxime Bernier.

Fournier says Winnipeg South Centre and the NDG-Westmount riding in Quebec are likely to stay Liberal.
