With 10-days left in the race to replace John Tory, Deputy Mayor Jennifer McKelvie is backing former deputy mayor Ana Bailao.
”This election has been way to focused on the polls,” the councillor for Scarborough-Rouge Park points out.
”Polls don’t matter, tweets don’t matter, the only thing that matters is votes. I’m here to say to everyone ‘Please vote for Ana Bailao,’ I already did.”

With city council having held its final meeting before the election June 26, McKelvie says this election’s far too important for her to sit on sidelines, and felt a responsibility to ”stand up for Toronto” and support a candidate.
Bailao sits atop a crowded field for second spot in the latest Mainstreet Research poll that has her at 14% support, one up on Mark Saunders, two ahead of Josh Matlow.
