Regardless of how you look at the data from the latest Mainstreet Research poll, Olivia Chow leads Ana Bailao anywhere from 14 to 16%.
With 12-days until John Tory’s successor is chosen, the former city councillor and one-time MP sits in the lead.
Looking at all voters, Chow has 27% of voters, Bailao 13% and Mark Saunders right behind at 12%, however, 19% of voters are still undecided.
Breaking down the numbers among decided and undecided, Chow has 29% support, Bailao 15 and Saunders 13, but 10% still haven’t made up their minds.
When talking about only decided voters, 33% favour Chow, 17% Bailao and 14% Saunders.
”I think conclusively I can say that Bailao is in second, definitively Mark Saunders is at 14(%) like in other polls,” says pollster Quito Maggi.
”But it’s hard to imagine anyone catching Olivia Chow at this point.”
If that’s how things play out election night how would Torontonians feel about the city’s future?
About one-in-four (26%) is very hopeful while the same number (26%) is very pessimistic, one-in-five (19%) is somewhat hopeful and nearly as many (18%) don’t know.
