Five of the leading candidates in Toronto’s mayoral race debate the issues Tuesday morning at 11:30, at an event hosted by the CBC.

Olivia Chow, Josh Matlow, Mark Saunders, Ana Bailao, and Mitzie Hunter are taking part.

Brad Bradford will not attend, after the birth of his and his wife’s second child.

Anthony Furey was not included in the CBC debate, despite his rise in the polls to 10 percent of decided voters.

Furey has been invited to attend Wednesday’s CARP mayoral debate here at the ZoomerPlex, moderated by Libby Znaimer.

Last October’s third place mayoral finisher Chloe Brown is also taking part.

Furey says he’s been making some meaningful connections while knocking on doors and attending community events.

“This is a beautiful city full of amazing people of all walks of life,” Furey explains, “It was great to be a newspaper columnist/broadcaster for over ten years, but I’m also the father of three small kids – 5, 7 and 9 years old. I care about this city and we can fix this but we have to say we’re not going to head in this direction any further. We’re going to get right back on the right path and with my common sense policies that’s what I hope to do, fight for all Toronto families.”

And while Olivia Chow continues to dominate in the polls, some of the other candidates are beginning to take the focus of criticizing Chow.

Previous debates in the election cycle have seen most of the candidates taking aim at Olivia Chow, who now has as much as thirty eight percent of decided voter support.
