When Cynthia Weil married Barry Mann in 1961, little did they know they would go on to become one of the most renowned, respect and prolific songwriting teams of pop music.
The couple was part of a pool of talent recruited by Don Kirshner and Al Nevins and based in Manhattan’s Brill Building.
And Cynthia’s hits … just keep on comin’.
The Righteous Brothers’ ”You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin” … and ”You’re My Soul and Inspiration” … Dolly Parton’s ”Here You Come Again” … The Drifters’ and George Benson’s ”On Broadway” … The Crystals’ ”Uptown” … The Ronettes’ ”Walking in the Rain” … Paul Revere & the Raiders’ ”Kick” … The Animals’ ”We Gotta Get Out of this Place.”
The couple was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1987 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010.
Last words to her husband of 62-years, Barry Mann.
”I’m a lucky man.  I had two for one, my wife and one of the greatest songwriters in the world, my soul and inspiration.”
