As the government transitions to a new system to accept family reunification applications, the wives, kids, and parents of recent immigrants will be able to join their loved ones in Canada more swiftly, according to Canada’s immigration minister.

While they wait for their application to be approved, family members seeking permanent residency in Canada can apply for a temporary visitor’s visa to join their sponsor. However, these types of visas are frequently turned down.

Sean Fraser claims that the new technology analyzes an applicant’s application using cutting-edge analytics to evaluate whether or not to grant them permanent status.

Overall, according to immigration attorney Will Tao, the shift is excellent, but there have been some questions about whether the growing use of advanced analytics would disadvantage or discriminate against specific families.

According to Minister Fraser, the new system has an approval rate for applications that is higher than 98%.
