A spokesperson for Prince Harry and his wife Meghan says when the couple and her mother left a charity event in New York City last night, they were ”involved in a near catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi.”

The spokesperson goes on to say ”this relentless pursuit, lasting over two hours, resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers, pedestrians and two New York police officers.”

Police say there were no injuries or crashes and that the couple eventually grabbed a taxi.

The cabbie says during the 10-minute drive, that it appeared they were being pursued by other vehicles, and that he got the impression from the group, that they’d already been chased by paparazzi before getting into his taxi.
