As the delta nation prepares for a severe storm that is anticipated to hit Bangladesh in the next 24 hours, volunteers are using loudspeakers in coastal districts of that country to advise people to seek shelter.

Many ambulances with mobile medical teams and tons of dry food have been pre-positioned by United Nations organizations and relief workers in the vast refugee camp where more than one million Rohingya who escaped persecution in Myanmar are staying.

Their camps at Cox’s Bazar are in the route of Cyclone Mocha, which is threatening the coastlines of Southeast Bangladesh and Myanmar with winds of high to 170 kilometres-per-hour.

Cyclone Mocha is anticipated to touch down on Sunday.
