MAYOR OF BOSTON PLAYS CLASSICAL

It’s something you don’t see or hear every day.

38-year old Boston Mayor Michelle Wu learned to play piano as a child.

She joined the Boston Symphony Orchestra in playing the second movement of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21 in C Major.

The concert was designed to celebrate the city of Boston and strengthen community through the shared experience of great music.  She says

The Mayor, a lawyer who grew up in Chicago, is the daughter of Taiwanese immigrants and the first Asian American woman to serve on Boston City Council.  She’s been mayor since 2021.
