2022 GLOBAL WEATHER WAS AS EXTREME AS IT APPEARED: WORLD METEOROLOGICAL ORGANIZATION

Looking back at last year’s weather with months of analysis, experts with the World Meteorological Organization say 2022 really was as bad as it seemed when people were getting through it.

The United Nations’ climate agency in a Friday report says killer floods, droughts and heat waves hit around the world, costing many billions of dollars.

Global ocean heat and acidity levels hit record highs and Antarctic sea ice and European Alps glaciers reached record low amounts.

Last year was also the fifth or sixth hottest depending on measuring techniques.

The past eight years are the hottest eight years on record globally.
