It appears the wheels are in motion that would see the Ontario Science Centre relocated down by Ontario Place.
Doug Ford says he personally favours it, calling it ”a great idea.”
The premier adds she could not say any more right now.
”If I told you now, my minister of infrastructure would shoot me on the spot. So can you stay tuned until next week? But I think it’s a fabulous idea, and there’s a tremendous opportunity. I think you know where we’re going on that.”
Toronto mayoral candidate Ana Bailao is pleased that she and the premier are on the same page.
If elected in the June by-election, Bailao says she’d approve the building of 5,000 homes; including 1,500 affordable homes, where the Science Centre parking lot is currently located, as well as on the land outside of the ravine there.
Bailao adds she would like to turn the Science Centre, which she calls ”a beloved heritage building,” into a community hub that serves area residents.
