The Rolls Royce Sir Michael bought as his first car, has sold at auction for almost $200,000 CAD.

The two-time Oscar winner paid just over $20,000 for the two-door 1968 Silver Shadow that was handcrafted and one of just over 500 ever made.

At the time, the 35-year-old actor described himself as “the original bourgeois nightmare – a Cockney with intelligence and a million dollars.”

The car was bought by a telephone bidder at the Imperial War Museum near Cambridge.
