He won Academy Awards for producing classics movies like “Some Like It Hot,” “In the Heat of the Night” and “West Side Story.”
Walter Mirisch has died in Los Angeles.
He’s is being remembered as a true visionary, both as a producer and industry leader. He served as president and governor of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for many years.
Between 1978 and 1983 Mirisch received two honorary Oscars for his body of work and his humanitarian efforts.
Walter Mirisch was 101.
