The world premiere “Emma Bovary” will open the next season of the National Ballet of Canada.
Choreographed by American Helen Pickett, it’s billed as a psychological exploration of the title character set to an original score by Peter Salem. It runs November 11th to the 18th.
Also in the line up, the Canadian premiere of “Passion” in which principal dancer Piotr Stanczyk will mark his retirement from a 25-year career with the National Ballet.
And holiday favourite “The Nutcracker,” returns in December.
The summer season opens next June with the North American premiere of “Don Quixote.”
