DRIFTERS VETERAN DEAD AT 85

His distinctive voice could be heard on a number of late 50’s early 60’s hits including “On the Boardwalk.”

Charlie Thomas (front and centre), was a member of The Drifters most of his adult life and sang on hits like “There Goes My Baby,” and “Up on the Roof.”

Thomas and the other members of the group were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Fame in 1988.

Charlie Thomas has died of liver cancer at the age of 85.
