The worsening weather conditions are impacting travel and schools.

The TTC says 41 bus stops in hilly areas will be taken out of service overnight. In addition, Line 3 Scarborough SRT will be replaced with buses.

York Region and York Catholic School Boards are cancelling buses tomorrow but schools will remain open. Halton Catholic is cancelling all after school activities tonight.

Environment Canada meteorologist Geoff Coulson is warning drivers to be cautious in their commutes this evening and tonight.

“Take it easy out there and even if you’re walking in some areas because we have snow that could be covering some icy patches, so this whole idea that we’ve had a bit of a break from winter but now we’re getting back into it, time to scrape off the rust from the winter driving skills,” said Coulson.

The city is also opening three warming centres tonight at 7 at Metro Hall on John Street, Mitchell Field Community Centre in North York and the Scarborough Civic Centre.
