Humanity has moved perilously close to catastrophe.

The symbolic Doomsday Clock has moved closer than ever to midnight.

The clock, which is set to 90 seconds to midnight, marks how close the planet is to complete annihilation because of man made actions.

The idea began in 1947 to warn humanity of the dangers of nuclear war.

The Bulletin from the Atomic Scientists says the clock has moved in large part, because of Russian strong man Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine and his thinly veiled threats to use nuclear weapons.

The other threats mentioned this year include climate change, biological threats and disruptive technologies.
