GTA-based ‘Dancing with Parkinson’s’ is not only helping seniors manage their symptoms, it’s become a social lifeline at a time when many feel isolated.

The program is set to expand in its 15th anniversary year.

Founder Sarah Robichaud is a classically trained dancer, choreographer and personal trainer.

“I literally have the best job on the face of the earth,” said Sarah.

She brings boundless energy and passion to the free program  open to all seniors, not just those with Parkinson’s that offers both in person and virtual dance classes.

“Two-and-a-half years after the pandemic, people are saying they feel better now, than physically and emotionally than they did  before the pandemic.”

She initially trained to teach this special program in New York.

“Where I saw first hand the transformation, that happened literally before my eyes, said Sarah. “The dance is breaking down the barriers  to connection, giving people hope, something to look forward to, they’re meeting friends from across the country on Zoom and sharing stories, getting to know one another and forming these meaningful relationships.”

“Everybody who walks into the room, or comes in online, immediately you’re a dancer and and you’re an artist, and that’s that!” quipped Sarah.
